Program

Admissions

A strong foundation in physics is essential for graduate study in medical physics. Students applying to the Graduate Program in Medical Physics are expected to have completed an undergraduate degree in physics or a degree in another physical science or engineering discipline with coursework equivalent to that required for a minor in physics.

Our online application deadline is December 1st. Candidates who receive favorable preliminary reviews from the admissions committee will be invited to interview on campus. These events are held in January and February and, in addition to formal interviews with faculty, include informational presentations by faculty and current students, tours of campus and the surrounding neighborhood where most students live, social events, and opportunities to explore downtown Chicago.

Foreign applicants unable to attend these events are interviewed by telephone or Skype. Most applicants will know they have been accepted to our program by mid-March.
